We are excited to announce that applications for the 2025 NISO Plus Scholarship Awards are now open! As we celebrate the sixth anniversary of the NISO Plus Conference, we invite you to apply to be a member of the 2025 cohort, or encourage a friend or colleague to apply.
The NISO Plus Scholarship Award is designed for emerging and mid-career professionals who feel their perspectives are underrepresented in libraries, publishing, or service provider organizations. We’re eager to welcome applicants who are ready to learn, network, and bring their unique voices and ideas to help solve the challenges facing scholarly communications.
This program aligns with NISO’s ongoing commitment to promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA). We aim to provide opportunities for professionals from diverse backgrounds to actively participate in shaping the information ecosystem.
Awardees will receive:
- Access to all virtual NISO Plus programming throughout the year, including free registration for the NISO Plus Global/Online virtual conference, to be held September 2025
- Travel and accommodations for the February 2025 annual conference in Baltimore, MD (pending funder approval)
- Networking opportunities with NISO board members, staff, and past and present scholarship recipients
- Free registration for all NISO educational webinars in 2025–27
- Discounted registration fees for other NISO events
- Opportunities to volunteer for NISO committees and working groups and to engage in the development of NISO standards
- Automatic enrollment in NISO I/O and standards program announcements

To apply, please complete this short application form and tell us why you’re interested in becoming a NISO Plus scholar.Applications will close on November 24, 2024, and will be reviewed by the NISO Plus Scholarships Committee, which includes previous scholarship awardees and established members of the scholarly communications community, alongside NISO staff and board members. Notifications will be sent by December 20, 2024. (Please note that previous awardees will not be eligible for reconsideration.)
