Dr. Mark Aldridge to deliver opening keynote at NISO Plus Global/Online

The National Information Standards Organization (NISO) is pleased to announce that Dr. Mark Aldridge, Associate Professor of Screen Histories at Southampton Solent University and Agatha Christie historian, is the opening keynote speaker of the 2025 NISO Plus Global/Online conference (September 16–17). Dr. Aldridge was lead researcher and writer on the BBC Maestro course on Agatha Christie, which launched in April 2025. The course is particularly notable for its use of artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance the voice and appearance of an actress who plays Christie and teaches mystery-writing using the author’s own words. It’s time to submit session ideas for the 2025 virtual NISO Plus Global/Online conference, happening September 16–17! Whether you have an idea for addressing a challenge facing the information community, or just want to bring people together to brainstorm solutions, we want to hear from you. Our call for proposals is open now through June 20. NISO Plus Global/Online is a great opportunity to meet and collaborate with professionals from across the information community and around the world to address the most pressing issues in scholarly communications. NISO Plus Pre-conferences Cover AI, Open Access Books, and JATS

The 2025 NISO Plus conference in Baltimore is just a few weeks away! This year’s meeting program includes three timely, collaborative pre-conferences (February 10) focused on generating ideas for solutions to challenges in the information community, including ethical use of AI and assessing the value of open access content. Tickets are very affordable, starting at just $99 for the half-day sessions!
