The letter below was just sent to all attendees of the 2020 NISO Plus Conference:
Dear NISO Plus attendees,
First, I would like to thank you all for participating in the NISO Plus Conference last month. By all measures, it was a success and we are so pleased by the energy and enthusiasm for the event.
Unfortunately, I have some news to share that might be concerning. One of the attendees of the conference informed us last night that they have been confirmed with a case of the COVID-19 virus. There is no way to know if this case is related to their participation in the conference or not.
Out of an abundance of caution, we want to share this information with you. This is the first that we have heard from any attendees about any COVID-19 infections around the meeting.
Hopefully, this is an isolated case and that no other participants fall ill. However, if you are experiencing any symptoms, of course, follow medical advice regarding the virus from the US Centers for Disease Control: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html
Our best wishes go out to the attendee for their quick recovery. I hope the rest of you remain healthy and productive.
Thank you again to all of you for participating and for engaging in the NISO community.
With kindest regards,
Todd Carpenter
Executive Director
