NISO Plus 2021 Content Now Openly Available

We’re delighted to announce that, six months on from NISO Plus 2021, we’re opening up the content for everyone to watch, use, share — and even cite! The 90 videos cover a wide range of important topics for the information community, from accessibility to standards in open research infrastructure, as well as NISO-specific content including an introduction to our organization by Executive Director Todd Carpenter and Associate Executive Director Nettie Lagace. Buy Five, Get Five Free — NISO Plus Group Discounts

As part of NISO’s ongoing commitment to increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion in our community, one of our key goals for NISO Plus 2021 was to enable much broader participation by information professionals from around the world and across all our stakeholder groups, including libraries, publishing organizations, and the service providers that support them. So we’re delighted to say that, as of today, around 550 people have registered for NISO Plus 2021, more than double the number who attended the in-person conference last year. We are delighted to announce our second keynote for NISO Plus 2021 — Margaret Sraku-Lartey, Principal Librarian at CSIR-Forestry Research Institute of Ghana (CSIR-FORIG) Margaret has a passion for supporting local Indigenous People — for unearthing the knowledge that exists at the local indigenous level, and harnessing it within the information ecosystem to propel communities into higher realms of development. As a professional librarian, Margaret is concerned about the lack of clear guidelines in the management of indigenous knowledge. She is committed to working toward the provision of standard guidelines for the management of such local knowledge, which can only …
